Nick Foligno is a captain that leads by example.

If you need evidence, go back to Game 1 of the Capitals and Blue Jackets series and watch the highlight of the Blue Jackets’ captain blocking a point shot with his face.

Following the game, Foligno had a pretty great quote on about how his face was holding up following the incident.

Surprisingly, his face was actually not as bad as you’d think considering that he was hit with a frozen rubber disc at a speed of close to 100 mph.

Nick’s younger brother, Marcus, was traded from the Sabres last offseason and made his playoff debut with the Minnesota Wild. When speaking to reporters on Saturday, Nick told the media that his younger brother reached out to him and gave him some shrewd advice on blocking shots.

Sound advice from the little bro. Maybe he should let Officer Bob handle all the block shots from now on so he doesn’t end up like Zach Werenski.
