After months of speculation and rumours, Marcus Stroman was traded ahead of MLB's deadline (which is July 31st in case you were wondering) to the New York Mets of all teams.

According to a report from the New York Post, though, it wasn't exactly a calm exit from Stroman despite him knowing it was all but a guarantee that he was going to be dealt.

Was this report true?  The easiest way to find out is to go straight to the source and on Monday on a conference call, Stroman shared his side of the story.

“It was a discussion I had with some of our coaches and some of our higher-ups – kind of an exit meeting and I was voicing my opinion on how things were handled,” he told reporters Monday on a conference call.

Ever since the deal went down, Stroman has been nothing but positive and upbeat about being able to return home to New York, so on the surface, it seems like he's happy.

The Mets are somehow still clinging to life in the Wild Card race, but all indications suggest this move was for the long term, not just the stretch this season.
