Since his last NBA season in 2012, Delonte West has fallen on hard times. Photos and videos that showed him panhandling has led to social media speculation that he was homeless, and West has battled drug addiction as well as legal problems over the last few years.

Over the last few weeks, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has taken it upon himself to reach out to West, even paying for his drug rehablitation treatment; West’s final stint came with the Mavericks.

Now, Cuban has shared an update with West going through his first steps back to recovery.

It’s great to see that Cuban is coming through for one of his former players, especially since that player has become the subject of so much public concern about his well-being.

In addition to the Mavericks, West played with the Boston Celtics and the LeBron James-era Cleveland Cavaliers.
