The Philadelphia 76ers kicked off the 2017 NBA Draft on Thursday night by making the selection everyone expected them to make.

With the first overall pick in this year’s draft, the 76ers selected Washington point guard Markelle Fultz.

Earlier in the day, the 19-year-old expressed how excited he was for the big day and couldn’t wait to see how it was going to change his life.

Fultz was pretty excited to go first overall to the Sixers, but he ended up getting caught up in the moment and ended up making his first rookie mistake.

The newest member of the Sixers shared a picture on Instagram to let everyone know how excited he was for the next step in his life, but forgot to make some last second edits to his post.

Fultz forgot to replace (City) with 'Philadelphia' and (team name) with '76ers' in his post, but he ended up removing the photo and replacing it with the proper tags.

Fultz averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game in 25 games last season.
