For a compact disc that’s supposed to glide across the ice, the hockey puck can sure move in some mysterious ways. Just ask Matt Murray.

On Wednesday night against the Penguins, Gabriel Landeskog dumped the puck right towards Matt Murray. It looked like Murray was in great position to make the stop, and then all of a sudden the goal sirens were ringing.

Of course, every time we see a goal like this, it takes us back to March 28, 2008 when Vesa Toskala allowed one of the worst goals of all-time.

These bouncing pucks definitely make goaltenders look a little silly, but don’t discredit the sudden unpredictability with which the hockey puck moves.

No harm, no foul for the Penguins. They’d recover from allowing that strange goal and win the game 4-3 in overtime.
