This week, some of the best players from around the NHL will take part in the annual BioSteel camp in Toronto.

Put on by BioSteel Sports Nutrition, the camp features the likes of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Tyler Seguin, Max Domi, Jordan Binnington, Brandon Montour, Tom Wilson and many others.

McDavid won't be taking part in any on-ice drills or practices, but he did speak to the media on Monday.

After answering a few questions about his health (McDavid said he should be ready for training camp), the Oilers captain was asked about the high-profile RFAs who remain unsigned and why he didn't hold out throughout the off-season with camp only weeks away.

Out of the remaining big-name RFAs, who will be the first to sign? 🤔

"It will take one domino to fall and then they'll fall pretty quick."

"Someone's going to have to set that mark."

Asked specifically about why he inked an extension (July 5th, 2017) early on in the off-season, McDavid opted for a simple piece of reasoning.

"I didn't want to be sitting here not going to training camp -- that was my biggest fear."

"I didn't want to be in that situation. Ultimately, it was a pretty easy deal. Peter, at the time, was great to work with and my agent obviously did a great job as well. It was a quick process, it wasn't anything that we needed to wait over."

The 22-year-old is entering the 2nd year of the eight-year, $100 million extension he signed as an RFA.
