After making it to the NLDS for the first time since 2006 in 2020, the Padres had a disappointing 2021 finishing under .500 and missing the postseason.

Playing in a division with the Dodgers and Giants is never easy, but San Diego has all the pieces to make a long playoff push, from star power (Tatis, Machado) to an excellent rotation (Darvish, Clevinger) to an established manager in Bob Melvin.

So far this season, the Padres are weathering an early storm of injuries to their best player and two of their best pitchers in Mike Clevinger and Blake Snell.  With a 3-game home series against the Dodgers coming up later this week, now is the perfect time to drop this interview we did with Clevinger days before the season.  Enjoy!
