Tyson Barrie is proudly Canadian, but his hometown of Langford, B.C., is basically as far away from Toronto as possible while still being in provincial Canada. While guys like Mitch Marner, Jake Muzzin, and John Tavares are playing for their hometown teams, Barrie isn’t exactly in the category.

Luckily, when Barrie got dealt from the Colorado Avalanche to the Toronto Maple Leafs, it was in a deal that involved an Ontario guy going the other way. As part of the handoff between players, London, Ontario native and longtime Leaf had some friendly Toronto advice for Barrie.

Barrie added that he DID in fact take the subway, and that it took about 10 minutes to get to the arena.

Anybody that’s tried to attend a Leafs game in Toronto, or has even been in the area of Scotiabank Arena, can attest to this. While Torontonians likely wouldn’t call it “snotty” (what does that even mean?), they know that the traffic is no joke.

Don’t want to be late for puck drop, after all. Guessing that wouldn’t sit too well with Coach Babcock!
