Despite being just 27 years old, Nazem Kadri is one of the Leafs players with the most seniority in the locker room which often means spending some time with the AUX cord.

Picking locker room music is a pretty big responsibility. Guys a looking to get in the right mood before the game and one wrong in the queue can throw someone totally off their rhythm – which means players obviously develop some reputations as locker room DJs.

Kadri appears to have a bit of a bad rep when he’s setting up the playlist because when he posted a photo with the caption “When you got the AUX and someone asks ‘what song is this?’”, he got chirped relentlessly by teammates.

It’s an interesting dynamic for modern day locker rooms because so many players are just listening to music on their own. Most hockey players have memories of sandstorm playing on repeat ahead of a big game, but nowadays people can get into their zone all on their own.

Still there is plenty of time as teammates to know who you want setting up playlists and for JVR, he won’t have to worry about that too much with Kadri anymore – that’s the young Leafs’ problem now.
