Last year, the NHL 17’s season simulation picked the Nashville Predators to win the Stanley Cup, and they got pretty close, but they’re not picking them again.

This year, the simulation has decided upon a Canadian franchise to win their first Stanley Cup ever. That’s right, the Winnipeg Jets are your Stanley Cup champions. They ended up facing the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final and defeating them in a 7-game Stanley Cup Final.

As you may have deduced from the fact that the Boston Bruins were in the Final, the other Canadian team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, were eliminated in the first round.

The Jets ended up having to take down the Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators and the Vegas Golden Knights on their way to the final, so their road was far from easy. If you’re curious about any of the other matchups, EA provided the full bracket of their simulation.
