It’s rarely done on purpose, but it’s a feeling we can all relate to. When you toss up an elated open-palm with a zealous expectation of a gesture return only to be “left hanging” by your supposed counterpart.

Ugh, excuse me while I go crawl into a hole for a little while…

Sometimes you can mull out the awkwardness by addressing the situation head on.

“Don’t leave me hanging, man! Don’t leave me hanging!”

In Nikola Jokic’s case though, there was just nothing he could do. It would have been a rude interruption to start yelling such things at Wilson Chandler now that he is full on involved in a conversation with some pesky high-five vulture.

Unfortunately, this happens far too often. Don’t worry Jokic, it’s not just you.

Recently we’ve seen a very awkward handshake go down between two guys that are more used to punching each other in the face – Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.

D’Angelo Russell also seems to consistently be left hanging.

Then there’s the ones that dealt with it in the same way as Jokic, like Evgeni Kuznetsov!

Ah, we’ve all done it.
