The Arizona Coyotes were hoping to get some better luck in the injury department this season, but it appears that they've been unable to shake the bad luck through the offseason.

According to a report by Swedish publication Kvalls Posten, the Coyotes captain was attacked by the family's seven-year-old German Shepherd in his own home.

The attack is said to have happened following the World Championships in May. Needing four stitches, Ekman-Larsson also received a tetanus shot and was put on antibiotics.

The dog was put down by the family after similar incidents with the dog had occurred in the past.

The report was confirmed by Ekman-Larsson on Twitter.

Coyotes GM John Chayka confirmed that the Swedish defenceman will be "fully healthy" once training camp gets going in September.

In 81 games last season, the Coyote notched 44 points (14 goals, 30 assists) and is approaching his 10th season in the club.
