One of the main differences between the NHL regular season and playoffs is how much more difficult it is to score goals in the postseason.

Teams play their best players a whole lot more in the postseason and more of an emphasis is put on matching lines.  You also don't see as many mistakes made, and usually mistakes lead to scoring chances.

Considering how much more challenging it is to score goals in the playoffs, it's always good to have scoring depth and this stat proves the Leafs have that.

If Patrick Marleau can find the back of the next five more times before the season is over, the Leafs will have four players with 30 or more goals on their roster and one could argue that if Mitch Marner didn't have a slow start to the season, they'd already have four.

So, for the fans that think the Leafs are a one-man or one-line team, that couldn't be farther from the truth and having that depth will be extremely beneficial come the playoffs.
