Things have been looking up in Leafs Nation this season.

One year after having the first overall pick in the NHL Draft the Leafs are currently sitting in a playoff spot, have an exciting young core of players and are the only team in the league to have five players with more than 50 points. With the has come a surge in online sales according to eBay.

In a report released by the e-commerce company, Maple Leafs merchandise has seen a 46% upward spike in sales on eBay, with the second biggest increase coming from the Winnipeg Jets at 12%.

Which team is selling the most merchandise in Canada? The Montreal Canadiens, who represent 25% of the NHL-related purchases by Canadians, with the Leafs and Oilers tying for second at 20% each. Last season not single Canadian team made it into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This year four Canadian franchises are currently sitting in a playoff spot. Translation...expect those merchandise sales to continue to increase!
