Patrik Laine truly is one of the NHL’s best personalities.

Forget everything going on with him right now. The trade talks, him potentially wanting out of Winnipeg. As a person alone, he’s one of the funnier ones the NHL has to offer, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise to see him clap back at his buddy Nik Ehlers after the latter tried to throw a chirp his way. Apparently Nik had been chirping Patty for being a bigger guy and not fighting, so when this was addressed in Laine’s post-game presser, he had one simple way of describing his Danish buddy.

You can probably guess what he called him…

YES PATTY!!!! This is the kind of stuff we need from NHL players.

Speaking of that fight… the 23-year-old looked pretty fired up after Kyle Conner was the victim of a dirty to the back from Noah Hanifin. Laine took exception but wasn’t awarded a five-minute major, so sadly no official Gordie Howe Hat-Trick for him.

Looking to prove himself in a contract year, this could be a huge season for #29. Both on, and off the ice!
