The Winnipeg Jets are in first place in the Central Division and they seem primed for another deep playoff run.  They've also been linked to multiple big names as the trade deadline approaches and we wouldn't be surprised if they make a move to improve their team.

Perhaps a trade will spark some scoring from Patrik Laine who, after scoring 24 goals in 2018, has only scored once in the new year.  The offensive struggles from Laine aren't ideal for the Jets, but there's one good thing that could come from the scoring slump and it has everything to do with the deadline.

In the simplest terms, the Jets could actually use the bonus to their advantage.  If they were to use it, though, they'd be taking a risk because if Laine goes on a goal-scoring tear, it would cost the Jets next year.
Laine is just 7 goals outside of the top ten, but if his slump continues and that number increases, it will be interesting to see what the Jets do with his bonus.
