In professional sports, there aren't too many things that get athletes fired up more than hearing their teammates names blasted over the speakers underneath a pump-up prior to a game commencing.

While most athletes are already ready to rock with adrenaline from their own means (and other things like pre-workout drinks or smelling sats), a pump-up tune and combined with the PA announcer gets everyone from the players to the fans rockin’.

With the Penguins nursing a 1-0 lead over their state rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Penguins sound team threw on a little Metallica and let their PA announcer pump out the names of the Pens starting lineup prior to puckdrop for Game 2.

Pittsburgh deployed Jake Guentzel, Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust to start the opening face-off. Left wingers Conor Sheary and Tom Kuhnhackl started the game on the bench, and just like many of the Penguins fans at PPG Paints Arena, they followed along and shouted out the names of the Penguins top line, as well as the starting defensive pairing of Brian Dumoulin and Kris Letang and netminder Matt Murray.

As you can see, both Kunhackl and Sheary have some fun with the way the crowd reacts to Brian Dumoulin’s name is pronounced by emphasizing the “Duuuu.”

Kuhnhackl almost goes word for word with PA announcer Ryan Mill. Does he read out the names of the starting lineup in the dressing room, too, or does he leave that to the coaching staff?

Actually, Kuhnhackl did this in Game 1 on the bench as well.

Unfortunately for the Penguins, the Flyers got the best of them in Game 2 by a score of 5-1, and with the series shifting back to Philly, Pens fans will have to wait till Game 5 if they want to watch the two wingers lip sync the lineups again.
