A lot of GMs received orders for their teams heading into trade deadline, but Pittsburgh Penguins GM Jim Rutherford might have received the most demanding ones.

According to Bob McKenzie, Rutherford received some marching orders from his nine-year-old son, James. He already went out and picked up Derick Brassard, but that wasn’t enough. Rutherford’s son wants him to pick up Patrick Kane and Corey Crawford.

With the Blackhawks in the middle of one of the their worst seasons in recent years, Crawford and Kane might not mind a playoff run, but with their deals and their history in Chicago, we’re pretty sure they won’t get moved any time soon.

We’re now passed the 3:00pm deadline, and we haven’t heard anything on that front.

Funny enough, none of the Metropolitan teams really upgraded, so perhaps his son will let him off the hook. Of the teams at the top of their division, they probably made the biggest move with Brassard. It will be interesting to see how the standings play out.

#TradeCentre: How big of an impact will #DerickBrassard make in the Penguins lineup? 🤔
