England fans are pretty disappointed after the heartbreaking, extra time loss to Croatia in the semi-finals of the World Cup. The devastation coursed through the nation and will continue to for the next four years when England finally gets another shot at “bringing it home”. Not to pile it on, but there’s something else (to a much tinier magnitude) that may disappoint the English faithful.

Ahead of Wednesday’s match, a video emerged of what appeared to be a “flyover” in England. While it is not uncommon for planes to add to the excitement of a sporting event by flying over the event in some formation, making for a brief and loud spectacle, this particular flyover was a little more noteworthy.

“It’s Coming Home” is the phrase of the World Cup for English fans as they enjoyed a better run than they’ve had in a very long time. Unfortunately, it will not be coming home, and also unfortunately, the flyover is fake.

While you may have seen it posted by countless sports channels, the original was posted to Potion Pictures. As explained by SB Nation, the Daily Telegraph, and Sports Illustrated, Potion Pictures is an animation company based in the United Kingdom, and they are the ones responsible for creating the video.

Oh well, I guess we’ll have to keep this as our favourite flyover of all time.

Wait for it... . (📽: Twitter/Washington Capitals)
