T’S RE-PETE TIME BABY.

Pete Alonso has gone back-to-back and has won the 2021 Home Run Derby!

In an absolutely electric Derby from start to finish, we were on our feet waiting to see who would be crowned the champion.

As Pete Alonso secured his second win, Trey Mancini put up an incredible fight tonight for the title, following his remarkable comeback journey from colon cancer just this past year.

Within the first round, Alonso recorded 35 home runs to break the league record, while defeating Juan Soto in the semis.

The major story heading into the game was the league-leading No.1 seed Shohei Ohtani, as faced upset early on as he was knocked out by Soto in a second tie-breaking swing-off. Though he wasn’t able to advance in the semis, Soto definitely left his mark by securing the longest HR in Home Run Derby history.

Following his incredible performance, Alonso joined Ken Griffey Jr. and Yoenis Cespedes, becoming just the third player to win consecutive events.
