It seems like every week we speak about the latest masterpiece of sports photography that turns into an internet sensation.
The latest photo to join those ranks in Canada belongs to Jose Bautista and photographer Tom Szczerbowski. Bautista is no stranger to viral photos, and neither is Szczerbowski, as the two have worked magic together before when Bautista hit the go-ahead home run in Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS and Szczerbowski photographed his celebration – The Bat Flip.
This time, it was after Jose Bautista just ducked away from a high and inside ball – something Bautista has seen a lot of since their first collaboration. Bautista ended up hitting the deck after the high heat and landed in a somewhat awkward position.
Oh, this photo definitely got some use. Blue Jays fans went to work with their best memes and photoshops. There isn’t a more popular photo among Blue Jays fans right now.
