Kailer Yamamoto is currently playing in his third season with the Spokane Chiefs and it’s probably going to be his final one. Expected to go in the first round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft later this summer, Yamamoto has been impressive all season long in the WHL, totaling 22 goals and 49 points through 31 games so far this year.

This past Friday, Spokane took on the Tri-City Americans at home. Although they came out on the wrong end of things, fans in attendance were treated to a beautiful performance by the 18-year-old and he gave them a reason to get on their feet and cheer.

It might not seem like that great of a goal at first, but when you replay it a couple more times you realize just how nice it really was. First he reads the play perfectly to come up with the interception in his own zone. Then he follows that up with an excellent boost of speed to get in all alone and then ends the play with a beautiful deke to make the goalie look foolish.

According to draftsite.com, Yamamoto is currently projected to go 17th overall to the Calgary Flames in this summer’s NHL Entry Draft.
