On Tuesday, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman decided to uphold Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly’s five-game suspension for cross-checking Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig. The cross-check was the result of an absolute clapper into the Leafs empty net, which Rielly clearly believed was a little over the top.

Regardless of whether you agree with Rielly or not, this will no doubt belong on every “Empty Net Moments” countdown for a long, long, long time.

It got us thinking… what are the most iconic empty net goals of all time?

Of course the Patrick Stefan no-goal comes to mind, but what are the most iconic GOOD GOALS of all time?

Ladies and gentlemen… we’ve got ourselves a good ol’ fashion Tier List.

Pastrnak, Rantanen, Ovi… some current legends on here. But we also threw it back to Gretzky, Brodeur, and some other old school clips.

What’s your favourite empty net goal of all-time? Did we miss any big ones?
