Nick Nurse is back in Toronto, for the first time as an NBA champion.
The Raptors head coach got quite the ovation from Raptors fans staking out the airport, and as the fanbase showed its love, Nurse showed love back, high-fiving a line of fans that stretches for, well, about as far as the eye can see.
A coach rarely gets the spotlight for winning it all, much less a rookie coach, but that just goes to show the impact that Nurse has left with this rabid Raptors fanbase that finally gets to experience a championship after 24 years.
We can only imagine what kind of receptions the actual players will get upon returning to Toronto, although it looks like they’re deciding to stay in Vegas to celebrate for an extra day. Hey, they’re champions! Soak it in.
