Once upon a time, NHL games looked different. The gameplay has obviously changed but we’re talking about the aesthetics involved. Not the equipment, rather the jerseys. Remember when the league rocked white jerseys for home games? TSN’s Ray Ferraro suggested that concept should return to the league.

The Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night and kicked things back 15 years by rocking their whites on home ice. Ferraro was loving what he was seeing during the Maple Leafs vs. Ducks broadcast and suggested that teams should bring their white jerseys back for half of their home games. That way fans could see a variety of jerseys throughout the season.

Fans (and NHLers) seemed to enjoy his take.

It’s somewhat puzzling to think the jerseys were changed from lights to darks in the first place. The NBA and MLB both stick to their whites (for the most part) while the NFL remains the only other big-four sport to use darks at home. If you throw third jerseys into the equation then fans could see three different sweaters throughout the year. Why not shake things up a bit?!

So what do you think, should NHL teams start using white jerseys at home again?
