Regardless of the sport, the best athletes in the world always receive the loudest reaction from fans, whether that be cheers or boos.

Tom Brady, for example, is the most polarizing player in the NFL and fans either love him or hate him with a passion.  There's no in between with athletes at Brady's level, like Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.

Connor McDavid might be the most exciting player in hockey, but Crosby is still the best and he's loved and hated depending on who you ask.

Sunday night, the Penguins were in Detroit to face the Red Wings on New Year's Eve and cheers immediately turned to boos as the jumbotron switched from a kid dabbing to Crosby on the bench.

It's funny how precise the timing was as the cheers turned to boos.  Clearly Red Wings fans don't like Crosby all that much, which makes sense considering he led the Penguins to two Cup Finals against Detroit early in his career and won his first Cup in Detroit.

Boos are the last thing on Crosby's mind, though, because the Penguins dropped another game and enter 2018 in second-last place in the Metropolitan Division.
