It hasn’t been easy sailing for St. Louis Blues forward Robby Fabbri.

A 21st overall pick in 2014, the Mississauga native kicked his career off with an impressive 18 goals and 19 assists in the 2015-16 season. Things took a turn for the worse the following year however, when Fabbri tore his ACL. When you thought it couldn't get worse, Fabbri tore his ACL again and found himself not playing hockey for almost one and a half seasons. After intense rehab, the 22-year-old is back at it and he notched his first goal last night in a 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. After the game he summed up how it all felt with the perfect quote.

It’s crazy to think that despite his injuries, the guy isn’t even 23 yet. Artermi Panairn didn’t play his first NHL game until he was almost 24 for crying out loud!

Fabbri hasn’t been the only player over the last few weeks to rip a monkey off his back. Take Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers, who literally pretended to yank one off of his after scoring his first goal in 26 games. It made for one of the cellies of the year.

Given he stays healthy, Fabbri should pot a lot more goals for years to come.
