Roger Clemens only spent two seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays but they were both memorable ones. On top of winning the AL Cy Young Award and getting selected to the All-Star Game both seasons, the Dayton, Ohio native also led the entire league in wins (’97 – 21, ’98 - 20), strikeouts (’97 - 292, ’98 - 271), ERA (’97 - 2.05, ’98 - 2.65) during his two-year stint with the team, and also led the league in complete games (9), shutouts (3) and innings pitched (264) his first year in Toronto.

Clemens spent the previous 13 years of his career with the Boston Red Sox, so when he made the switch over to the Blue Jays it was a big deal for fans to see him in his new threads and something other than a BoSox uniform for the first time in his career. One photo that was taken during his time with the Jays features his son, Kacy, helping carry his dad’s bag from the bullpen at Dunedin Stadium. On Saturday, the now-Blue Jays prospect Kacy Clemens recreated the photo with his father and it’s pretty great.

Kacy Clemens was originally drafted out of high school by the Houston Astros in the 35th round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft, but decided to go to college and was then drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 8th round of last year’s draft.

The 23-year-old has played six games with the Dunedin Blue Jays since he was called up from the Lansing Lugnuts and has one home run and three RBI in his first 25 plate appearances. In his 27 games with the Lugnuts, Clemens recorded seven home runs and 25 RBI to go along with a .301 batting average and a .454 OBP.
