Ronda Rousey is back, but not anywhere we’ve ever seen her before.

The former UFC  fighter who won an other-worldly 12 consecutive times, 11 of which ended in the first round, is done in the octagon. She has instead chosen a life in the ring. The woman nicknamed “Rowdy”, who was selected as the Best Female Athlete Ever by ESPN, appeared at Sunday’s Royal Rumble and did not disappoint.

After Asuka took the title for the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble, Rousey appeared to Joan Jett’s Reputation in front of a raucous crowd.

After the expectedly dramatic entrance, Rousey found herself face to face with three established wrestlers and then turned to point at the Wrestle Mania sign hanging above the arena.

While she didn’t actually partake in the Royal Rumble, as some had rumoured she would, she still managed to make her presence felt. In an emotional interview with ESPN’s Romona Shelburne, Rousey explains that this is her life now.

The world of WWE is vastly different than that of the UFC, so it will be interesting to see how she fairs in this new kind of spotlight. One thing is for sure, her life will never be the same.
