There are few marquee events that most sports fans can only dream of attending.

The exclusive list includes the Super Bowl, a Game 7 Stanley Cup matchup, and even an Olympics if you can somehow swing it. The FIFA World Cup is on the top of every soccer players’ list, and a group of University teammates are in the process of checking the illustrious trip off of their to-do list. Ryerson’s football team (European that is) is currently cross-seas witnessing the action unfold. The ‘Rams’ already attended Iceland’s stunning draw against Argentina and are scheduled to watch Brazil take on Serbia on the 27th.

Not a bad group of teams to watch if you ask us!

The team’s trip is multi-purposed. In addition to the World Cup matchups, the Rams will participate in a total of two games; the first was played against Russia’s FC Lokomotive on June 17th and the second will take place on the 23rd against FC Spartak. Off the pitch, the team is scheduled to visit a Russian orphanage on Friday night. All-in-all, this sounds like a pretty fulfilling experience.

Players have been documenting all the action. The best moment we’ve heard of came from Rams goaltender Ali Ghazanfari, who said this about his experience travelling:

Don’t worry Ali, the trip is young. There’s still hope!

The Rams rounded out the 2017 year ranked #10 in the nation and will look to improve their position in the upcoming season. This kind of bonding might just do the trick.
