A fan favourite on the ice, Scott Hartnell is bringing his joyful exuberance to the broadcast world and internet.

One was he can quickly endear himself to hockey fans is by poking fun at the NHL officiating this post-season, and on Friday night, Hartnell did just exactly that.

With more questionable calls, Hartnell tweeted out that if this particular tweet below gets enough retweets, he might just have to take up ref school.

Just what number did you have in mind, Hartsy?

Already doing work with the NHL Network, why not diversify your income and stay involved in the game by officiating? Having a former player as a ref isn't, or even in the disciplinary sector or video rooms in Toronto isn't a bad idea at all.

A rough and tumble player in his prime, Hartnell knew the boundaries when he played, but now since he's retired, his goofy and outgoing personality has a chance to shine.

One of Gritty's long lost cousins, the 37-year-old retired last year after notching 13 goals and 11 assists for the Nashville Predators, the team that drafted him 6th overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

So, what are you waiting for? Go retweet the funky-haired fella?
