The Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche will play back-to-back games in Sweden on Friday and Saturday.

The games will be held in Stockholm at the Ericsson Globe – a very unique arena that has hosted other international games in the past. Of course, because it will be a fairly large event, the NHL has added some design touches of their own and the rink is looking fresher than ever.

NHL players have already arrived and they’ve been sharing some shots on their social media of what the rink looks like. Mike Hoffman gave a great look featuring some chirping from Dion Phaneuf.

It’s going to feel a little more like a home game for the Senators with all of that red in the building, but both teams have several players from Sweden that are sure to get plenty of cheers. The first game will count as a home game for the Avalanche and the second will count as a home game for the Senators.

More interesting than the inside might be the outside of the arena which is even more unique. Here are some other looks of the arena.
