Sidney Crosby was an absolute beast last night for the Penguins, but it was this play from the bench that seems to be getting all the attention.

At one point in the game, the Penguins bench erupted, thinking that there should have been a penalty called on the Predators. Oddly enough, probably the last person who should have been worried about penalties being called in the game (After all his scrapping with Subban), Crosby ended up being the most animated on the bench.

As he stood up, you can see he is the one holding the water bottle.

Then you can see his arm extend.

And the water bottle goes flying.

It’s tough to say whether the throw was intentional or not, but either way it’s definitely not allowed and not a great way to make an argument that the OTHER team should get a penalty. The play really didn’t factor in to the overall game, as Crosby was brilliant on the ice and the Penguins dominated the Predators, putting them on the brink of elimination.
