The last time that Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier stepped foot on Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Cincinnati Bengals, he was carted off the field with a severe spinal cord injury. Doctors feared that he wouldn’t walk again.

In today’s game between the Steelers and Bengals, 314 days after suffering his injury, Shazier made his emotional return to the stadium where he suffered his injury.

Shazier is ruled out for the 2018 season, and his football career at large remains in doubt. However, fans have rallied in support of the 26 year old, wishing him well on the road to recovery.

In August, Shazier took his first unassisted steps since the injury in front of a cheering crowd at Steelers practice.
