Even when they trail in a two-possession game with 30 seconds to go, it’s hard to count the Warriors out. They’re just that good.
In overtime of Game 3 against the Rockets, however, there was a quick release from the usual tension after Steph Curry surprisingly blew a wide-open dunk. After that, the Warriors just chose to let the clock run out instead of fouling.
Curry isn’t much of a dunker, of course, but that’s still shocking in OT of a close game. You don’t often see elite players in the NBA just whiff like that with a playoff game on the line, but it allowed the Rockets to take their first playoff win of the series.
Considering that he’s still Steph Curry, and considering some of those other dudes that he gets to play with on the Warriors, he’ll probably be just fine. (Kevin Durant was absolutely on one in Game 3, pouring in a game-high 46.) With that said... the missed open dunk is always just a bit humiliating!
