NHL All-Star weekend may not be a proper display of who’s-who as it is more based around the fun times and the flourishing of skill. Between Wes McCauley’s legendary no-goal call, and Eichel and Matthews providing some laughs, this year’s edition didn’t disappoint. One of our favourite moment also involved Eichel and Matthews, and the rest of the players on the Team Atlantic bench, after Nikita Kucherov scored his third goal of the game.

When Kucherov netted the hat-trick completing 7th goal of the game, the expected fan reaction was to litter the ice with hats.

While this would be the extent of tribute to a fantastic hat-trick effort in most games, the All-Star Game allows for a little extra fun. Team Atlantic had their own way of “tipping their cap” to Kucherov by throwing their own headgear on the ice – their helmets.

Team Atlantic would go on to lose in the final to the Pacific division thanks to a fantastic performance from Canucks' rookie Brock Boeser, but hey at least they got to flash a little flow in the semis!
