Terry Sawchuk played 21 seasons in the NHL and he will go down in history as one of the greatest goalies to ever play the game.

In 971 career games Sawchuk finished with a career record of 447-330-172 while posting a 2.51 goals against average over that span, and is just one of two goalies with more than 100 career shutouts as he currently sits second on the all-time shutouts list with 103.

Last week, Sawchuk’s son and grandson decided to do something special for the former NHL goalie by getting matching tattoos in his honour.

Sawchuk’s grandson, Jon, got the tattoo on his right shoulder blade, while his father and Terry’s son, Jerry, got the exact same tattoo on his left shoulder blade.

These are easily some of the best sports-themed tattoos we’ve come across over the years. If Terry was still around today, he’d probably get a kick out of his family’s new ink.
