20 years after his legendary performance at the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest, Vince Carter is hanging it up for good. On Thursday, he officially announced his retirement from the league.

Carter will be remembered for his longevity in the league (the first player in NBA history to play 22 seasons!), but more than that, he'll be remembered as one of the best ever dunkers, and it was that 2000 dunk contest that might still stand as the best of all time to this day.

A 360 windmill. An off-the-bounce, between-the-legs dunk. (It’s over!) A honey dip.

Especially for Toronto Raptors fans, this iconic dunk contest rests at the core of their relationship with Carter, so let’s run it back through the photo gallery. There are... so, so many great shots here.
