Considering that this all started with a Reddit post on Wednesday, there was a pretty impressive turnout for Friday’s protest of the Lakers by fans, with even major media outlets arriving to cover the event.

You’d think that having LeBron James on your team would ease the tension, but fans were decidedly vocal about their lack of confidence in this team’s direction and leadership. As you can guess, there were some pretty vicious fan signs at the protest, many targeting owner Jeanie Buss, GM Rob Pelinka and basketball adviser Kurt Rambis.

There were some appeals to emotion.

Somebody even brought a mugshot of Jason Kidd, after some rumours suggested that one of the Lakers’ preferred coaching candidates, Tyronn Lue, cut off talks with the team when they insisted upon hiring Kidd as an assistant.

LeBron didn’t escape unscathed, either.

Some fans offered solutions, although we’re not so sure about this one...

...or this one, either. But former Laker Nick Young seems to be all for it!

The Lakers have historically been winners of this cross-town rivalry, but with the turmoil surrounding the team at the moment, legendary Clippers superfan Clipper Darrell naturally had to come through to gloat.

A lot of things could happen for the Lakers this offseason, and considering that they’re the Lakers, most of those things are probably positive. They’ll be in the running for just about every superstar on the market, a list that includes Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and Anthony Davis.

But there’s certainly some anxiety among fans right now, and that’s never a good sign. If things break bad for the Lakers this summer, who knows what they’ll look like by the start of next season?

What is going on in #LA?! 😮😮
