For each of the three seasons that Patrick McCaw has played in the NBA, he’s won the championship. He’s batting 1.000 on NBA titles so far. He was drafted to the Golden State Warriors in 2016, winning the 2017 and 2018 title with them, and then he got a ring with the Raptors in 2019.

Of course, he hasn’t really been a major player in any of these playoffs, but it’s still a funny factoid. In fact, the Boston Celtics just became the first team to ever defeat McCaw in the playoffs, after sending the Raptors home in a competitive Game 7 in the second round.

Due to injury, McCaw hasn’t played since March, although he probably wasn’t going to have been a significant factor for the Raptors anyway. Still, it’s a bummer that he won’t be able to add back-to-back-to-back-to-back NBA champion to his resume as a 24 year old.

McCaw started a dozen games for the Raptors this season when they were beset by injuries in December, and he still has another season left on his contract. Sure would be nice to get him that ring next year, right?
