The CWHL’s coveted Clarkson Cup has been handed out for the 12th time since its introduction in 2006, and for the second time in the team’s history, the Calgary Inferno are the ones taking it home.

The game took place in downtown Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum, where the Inferno were faced with a tough challenge in their rival,Les Canadiennes de Montréal.

Les Canadiennes were 21-6-1 in the regular season, and features well-known Olympians like Hilary Knight and Marie-Philip Poulin. The Inferno were an impeccable 23-4-1 in the regular season, and boasted talents like Rebecca Johnston, who lead the team in scoring, and the now well-known Brianna Decker  , who famously stunned at the NHL’s All-Star Game with her amazing passing abilities, which earned her a cool $25,000. Decker was also awarded MVP of the Clarkson Cup game.

The game came right down to the wire, as the Inferno lead, and the Canadiennes piled on some dangerous chances, before Calgary managed to bury the puck in an empty net, and secure the win with a score of 5-2.

In true hockey fashion, the cellies ensued.

Congrats to the Inferno, and if you need any tips on how to properly celebrate (which we know you probably don’t), we still recommend you follow Ovi’s championship celebration lead.
