Trade rumours involving big name players have been swirling since the season ended and on Saturday, one of those rumours turned out to be true.

Dougie Hamilton of the Calgary Flames was rumoured to be on the move and as per Bob McKenzie and Pierre LeBrun, he's off to Carolina in what is reportedly a massive five-player deal.

All players, no picks and three big names involved as Hamilton will be joining the Hurricanes while Hanifin and Lindholm reunite with their old bench boss Bill Peters in Calgary. There's nothing like a big trade to get the hockey world talking and deals don't get much bigger than this, so the hockey world had a lot to say.
