The Mecedes-Benz Stadium is one of the most jaw-dropping, state of the art venues in all of professional sports right now.

Home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC of the MLS, the $1.6 billion stadium is a multi-purpose venue that features a retractable roof, a 360-degree video board and various other state-of-the-arc features that make it the top place in American to take in a football game. It even uses 47% less water and 29% than a regular stadium would.

The stadium was first used late in the summer when the Falcons hosted their first pre-season game back on August 26th.

It was first time since 1992 that the Falcons played a game at home away from the Georgia Dome, where they called home for 25 seasons. Tons of concerts; college football, basketball and soccer matches were played there, as well as two Super Bowls and one Olympics.

With the veneu's time finally coming to an end,we finally have footage of the Falcons former home imploding after it was blown to pieces on Monday morning.

That was close to 5,000 pounds of explosives taking down a stadium with 71,250 seats in just around 15 seconds. The separation between the two stadiums was about 83 feet, which isn’t much room at all. A five-story industrial sized protecting curtain was used to shield Mercedes-Benz Stadium from any damage.

The cleanup of the building will take about three months, and plans are in place to make use of all the debris and concrete left over from the demolition.

The dust from the demolition took it’s time to disperse and hovered across the city of Atlanta.

The Falcons won their final game in the Dome when they beat the Green Bay Packers 44-21 in the NFC Championship back in January.
