The reason behind Duchene buying a house in Nashville will cool the excitement of Preds fans

Around trade deadline time, small details that are dug up seem to get the most attention (for obvious reasons), especially if those details are about a player who's rumoured to be dealt.

Matt Duchene has been the subject of trade rumours all season long and based on reports, there are multiple teams that are interested in the 28-year-old. One of those teams (apparently) is the Predators and someone may have found something connecting Duchene to Nashville.

1. We’d have to know for sure that it was him.

2. Assuming it is, it’s not uncommon for NHL players to have houses in multiple spots. And it’s no secret that he does like Nashville. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll sign here.

Naturally, this information has the hockey world buzzing and Predators fans excited, but there's an explanation that will likely calm the buzz.

Last November Matt Duchene bought an Air B&B investment property in Nashville. It was not purchased with the intention of moving into it. His buddy also bought the place right beside it also as a business investment.

Our advice, take all of this information with a grain of salt because Duchene could get traded to Nashville and it will have nothing to do with the house, he could get traded somewhere else, or he could somehow stay in Ottawa, although that seems like the most unlikely outcome.
