It looks like the Buffalo Sabres could be rocking a third jersey to honour their 50th anniversary this season.

On Tuesday, a Twitter user (who according to Icethetics redacted his name from the article) shared photos of a computer monitor that displayed an Adidas B2B website featuring the third jerseys of the Sabres, Anaheim Ducks and Vancouver Canucks. The images have since been deleted but revealed a Sabres design that hasn’t been seen yet by fans.

The photo revealed a crisp white sweater with gold, white and blue patterns on it. Instead of using the classic white and yellow for the logo, this jersey sticks with gold in honour of the anniversary. Here’s a look:

It’s worth noting that the Canucks jersey on the screen turned out to be the same one the team introduced on June 15. Per Icethetics, the Ducks’ third jersey aligns with reports that Anaheim’s could bring back a third jersey. Last season their third jersey featured a more similar colour scheme to the one they rocked in the 90’s.

Buffalo introduced shoulder patches for the anniversary back in May. Ten years ago, the team celebrated its 40th anniversary with another third jersey that read ‘Buffalo” across the chest with a small logo underneath.

These are not by any means official, but it’s worth keeping this design in mind as the days lead up to the 2019-20 season. Thoughts?
