Boston Red Sox second baseman Steve Pearce is living out every baseball player’s dream after winning both the World Series and MVP following last night’s Game 5 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The craziest part of it all is that it all wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for a midseason trade.

Jays fans especially are very familiar with the name after he played in 86 contests for the team before getting sent to Boston in a minor deal. Pearce was sent over for infielder Santiago Espinal and more incredibly, Toronto was still paying for more of Pearce’s contract after the trade than Boston was.

Talk about a bargain deal!

No one could have really seen Pearce breaking out like he did but fans were still quick to roast the Jays.

While Pearce & co. are probably still celebrating right now, the Jays are reflecting on yet another disappointing season. Considering former ace David Price also earned the series-clinching win, last night was just a tough one for Toronto baseball fans.
