NHL players usually aren’t very tall compared to some other sports, but when a big man is able to maintain speed and agility like some of the smaller players, they’re a game-changing presence.

Zdeno Chara is far and away the best example of this, but we’ve seen other giants emerge like Victor Hedman and Dustin Byfuglien. Last night, it was a clash of the titans as Chara ended up fighting one of the other big men in the league, Jamie Oleksiak. Oleksiak stands 6’7”, tied with Andrej Sustr for the second tallest player in the league.

Chara remains the tallest player at 6’9” and he remains the most imposing force after watching him dominate this fight.

With Chara picking on someone his own size and winning, it’s pretty clear that there’s no point in fighting him. With his reach, strength and endurance, it’s never going to end well for anyone else.

Unless you’re Phil Kessel of course. Never mess with the thrill.
