Legacy is something people in sports think a lot about.
When all the dust has settled, we don't often think about people's legacies as athletes; we often think about their legacies as human beings. How will you be remembered? What will people say about you when you’re no longer around to speak for yourself? Have you had a positive impact on the people around you?
When talking about legacies, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a more positive legacy then Edmonton sports legend Joey Moss. Last week, Canadian sports fans were all deeply saddened when the news of Joey’s tragic passing at 57 broke.
Joey Moss will always be remembered for his hard work, his dedication, his infectious spirit, and his positive attitude in the face of any challenge. His impact on the city of Edmonton will never be forgotten, and there has been a few meaningful tributes to his life and his dedication to the city so far.
Now, Edmonton artist AJA Louden has taken to the streets to paint this beautiful mural tribute to Joey, and we think it’s an excellent way to honour such a great life.
It’s clear that Joey left a mark on people, and his legacy will not soon be forgotten in Edmonton. Rest easy, Joey.
