This guy proposed to his girlfriend after scoring a goal... and paid the price

A soccer player who proposed to his girlfriend after scoring a goal was ruthlessly penalized by the referee.

There have been some historic celebrations in the game of soccer, but none have been quite as original as NAPA Rovers’ Ashton Surber of the Budweiser Soccer League.

After scoring an incredible bicycle kick goal, Surber took off his jersey, but instead of his pecs and abs showing, the crowd saw a shirt that read ‘Marry Me?’

The guy even had the courtesy to get on a knee! It wasn’t all sunshine and flowers for Surber though. The player was assessed a yellow card for his actions, but more importantly, his now fiancé said yes, so we’re sure he won’t lose too much sleep over it.
