The Toronto Maple Leafs have been the NHL’s best offensive team so far this season and it hasn’t even been close.

Through their first five games, the Buds have put home an eye-opening 25 goals in just five contests; seven more than the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks’ 18 in four. Auston Matthews has led the way with nine of his own, while recently acquired John Tavares has tallied an impressive ten points. If you were looking for a little bit of extra perspective on just how dominant the team has been then look no further, because we have just the right stat for you!

Would you believe us if we told you that the team had more touchdowns than three NFL teams this week? How about five? Or… SEVEN?!

Yeah... the #Leafs are scoring at a pretty ridiculous rate right now 😳

Alright, so this is obviously impressive considering it’s only Friday, but it doesn’t exactly look good on these NFL squads either.

Last night’s victory was full of milsestones, most notably coming from the Leafs’ 21-year-old centre. With his fifth multi-point game, Matthews surpassed Wayne Gretzky as the youngest player in NHL history to record five consecutive multi-points games to start the season.

No one can stops these dudes right now.
